Faces II 《面孔II》Abd al Latif
Abd al Latif is 13 years old now. He was separated from his family in the war and came to Turkey with his compatriots by ship. He is working in a restaurant operated by a Syrian now.
“Some Turkish people treat me well. Those regular customers sometimes tip. In contrast, some Syrian children treat me so bad. They say I am a waif. I don’t know who is devil and who is angel.”
作者现在13岁，因为战事频频，他在逃难途中与家人走失，跟着同胞只身坐船来到土耳其。目前在一家叙利亚人开的餐厅做长工。
“有的土耳其人对我不错，常客看我可怜还会给我点小费。有的叙利亚孩子反而会欺负我，说我是流浪儿。谁是魔鬼，谁是天使，我也不知道。”
